The Department of Campus Recreation is seeking a certified and driven Athletic Trainer to support the health and performance of its Club Sports athletes. This appointment-based role will focus on injury rehabilitation, table care, and athlete wellness. Reporting to the Assistant Director for Competitive & Recreational Sports the Athletic Trainer will work closely with Club Sport athletes, coaches, and campus wellness staff to provide high-quality care and ensure safe participation in sport, with a strong emphasis on proper injury management and return-to-play protocols. This role does not include game day responsibilities such as pre-game prep, game coverage, and post-game care. This is a part-time position not eligible for University benefits. Work hours are limited to 950 per calendar year and less than 29 hours per week on a regular basis.
 
Responsibilities:
- Provide athletic training services for club sport athletes, including preventative care, injury evaluation, rehabilitation, and post-injury recovery.
 
- Deliver table treatments such as taping, stretching, and soft tissue techniques to promote recovery and injury prevention.
 
- Administer tests/protocols for measuring/identifying various injuries, including muscle tears, bone fractures, concussions, etc.
 
- Maintain accurate documentation of injuries, treatments, and athlete progress.
 
- Work on an appointment-based schedule aligned with Club Sports practices and competition calendars—no game day coverage required.
 
- Collaborate with Campus Recreation staff, club coaches, and athletes to design and implement recovery and return-to-play plans.
 
- Maintain the cleanliness and readiness of the training space and equipment.
 
- Follow university protocols and best practices for care, safety, and confidentiality.
 
- Refer student-athletes to physicians and medical specialists when appropriate and assist with coordinating follow-up care.
 
- Maintain ongoing communication and collaboration with the University Health Center and other wellness units to support integrated student health services.
 
- Partner with professional staff across departments to support the holistic wellness and development of student-athletes.
 
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills in all interactions with students, staff, and campus partners.
 
- Other duties as assigned.
 
 
 
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Science, or
 
- a related field is required, and Master’s degree from a CAATE-approved program is
 
- preferred.
 
- 1–3 years of professional experience in athletic training, preferably working with
 
- collegiate, club sport, or high school athletes.
 
- Demonstrated experience in injury prevention, evaluation, rehabilitation, and athlete
 
- wellness support.
 
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
 
- Board of Certification (BOC) credential, and hold current licensure to practice Athletic
 
- Training in the State of Pennsylvania is required. Current certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED required.
