The Department of Education within the School of Nursing, Education, and Human Studies is seeking qualified applications at the level of Assistant Professor in Early Childhood/Special Education. We are seeking candidates with research interests in early childhood/special education to teach in the school’s undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs beginning in Fall, 2022.
Prepare and deliver high-quality on-ground and online instruction in the early childhood and special education program. Additional teaching responsibilities include selecting and obtaining materials and textbooks and planning and maintaining curricula and course content to support PDE, NAEYC and CAEP accreditations. The successful applicant is expected to conduct scholarly activities in their discipline including publications, grants, and presentations. A successful scholarship record is needed to teach courses in the Education doctoral program. Faculty responsibilities include participating in recruitment activities and service to the department, school, university, and profession. Maintain regularly scheduled office hours in order to advise and assist students. Faculty are also expected to contribute to initiatives and collaborative programs designed to further the mission, goals, and strategic plan of the university, school, and department.
Minimum qualifications include a doctoral degree in education with K-12 experience in early childhood and special education. Applicants must demonstrate excellence in teaching diverse populations in a university or college setting as well as productivity in research in their discipline. The individual will have experience with working with a diverse group of individuals and be committed to diversity, equity and inclusion. Position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills and collegial relationships with faculty, students, staff, and K-12 district stakeholders.
