Pre/Student Teacher University Supervisor

Overview:
The university supervisor will individually observe, evaluate, and conference with each pre-student teacher and/or student teacher, and serve in a bridging role between the classroom and the university setting. In some semesters you may supervise zero students, some semesters you may supervise up to five. Supervision takes place during the school day in the district classroom where the student is student teaching. This position is often a good fit for retired teachers who would like to work part-time.
Responsibilities:
The university supervisor must be able to attend the RMU Student Teaching Orientation and Cooperating Teacher Orientation. During orientation materials and information are provided to guide the university supervisor in supporting the pre-student teacher and/or student teacher, and in formal observation of the pre/student teacher’s performance across subjects. Familiarity with the Pennsylvania Statewide Evaluation Form for student Professional Knowledge & Practice (PDE 430) is preferred. Reliable transportation and school-required clearances are required. Mileage compensated at the IRS standard rate. Supervisory compensation outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between RMU and the USW Academic Workers Association.
Minimum Qualifications:
Teacher certification and Bachelor's degree required, graduate degree preferred, but will accept Bachelors with experience.
