Records Processing Specialist

Overview:
The primary function involves the processing of all undergrad and graduate applications for the University, including the processing of applications, credential verification, document scanning of credentials, electronic submission of folders for review, adding updated information to student records; and ensuring that all admissions deposits are logged correctly.
Responsibilities:
  • Processes all demographic and academic information for Prospective students from applicant through matriculation, including Importing and verifying imported applications; verifying credentials uploaded into Student Portal, through automated sources and importing credentials received via mail or email; electronic filing of applications, transcripts, credentials and test scores; adding and verifying all decisions, including acceptance, deposit, updated award, and deny letter; submitting workflow files to the appropriate bins and moving to decision bins; logging all admissions deposits; processes all changes associated with application records, including majors, entry terms, and awards; processes all changes associated with student records, including contact information, biographical information, and citizenship status, check and manage email accounts, including forwarding messages, responding to questions, downloading documents. Works to consolidate duplication application records.
  • Performs exports from Slate to Banner and Patriot, as needed.
  • Generates appropriate queries to determine if all credentials have been received for review and to verify database accuracy.
  • Assists with specialized projects to ensure data accuracy in Slate.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma required; Associates Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Two or more years of computer experience, including data entry.
  • Respect for and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Accuracy with detail work.
  • Ability to interpret academic records.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with students, parents, high school guidance offices and other Admissions staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
