Overview:
The graduate assistant (GA) for the Master of Science, Counseling Psychology assists the Counseling Psychology (CP) faculty with research projects they are conducting and assists with the day-to-day administrative operations and initiatives associated with the CP program and the School of Education and Social Sciences.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of the CP GA include: • Provide administrative support for CP program initiatives and day-to-day operations in the School of Health Professions. • Assist with programmatic events in the School of Health Professions. • Support Admissions initiatives in the School of Health Professions. • Support CE initiative through the development of outreach and programs* Provide support for the completion of research projects within the psychology program. o Miscellaneous other duties as assigned. The GA is expected to work 20 hours a week, which normally equates to two days a week on campus in the office. There will be times, however, where the GA will be expected to be available outside of regular working hours for admissions or other related events. Working hours during periods of time when the university is closed will be at the discretion of the department head.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a closely related field. • Undergraduate GPA of 3.3 or above. • Full-time enrollment in the MS Counseling Psychology at RMU. • Previous psychology research experience. • A history of strong counseling and leadership experience.
