Administrative Assistant for the Massey Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation

Overview:
The Massey Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation is searching for an ideal candidate to serve as the Administrative Assistant to the Director. The Administrative Assistant provides crucial support to the daily operations of the Massey Center and the RMU entrepreneurial community. They will play a hands-on role in assisting the coordination of the Center’s programming, communicating with key stakeholders, and managing the Center's general administrative tasks. This role helps to expand the capacity of the Center as RMU’s entrepreneurship program grows. This is a part-time position and not eligible for University benefits. Work hours are limited to 950 per calendar year and less than 29 hours per week on a regular basis.
Responsibilities:
  • To assist the Director in managing key administrative tasks critical to maintaining the operations of the Massey Center for entrepreneurial thinking and action.
  • To assist with the logistical coordination of entrepreneurship activities, programming, and events facilitated or supported by the Massey Center.
  • To manage the communication on behalf of the Massey Center and its Director with internal and external stakeholders. These stakeholders include RMU’s students, faculty and staff, MCEI’s Boards of Advisors, and entrepreneurial professionals and leaders from across the region who serve as MCEI’s partners, guests and allies.
  • To maintain databases and documentation pertaining to the Center’s development and operations.
  • To manage and curate the MCEI’s calendar of events and happenings, as well as the Director’s calendar of appointments and commitments.
  • To ensure the proper maintenance of the Massey Center’s physical space in Massey Hall, and the Center's online presence (ie. website, social media, etc.)
  • To perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate Degree required.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of office/administrative experience, preferably in a college or university.
  • Experience/interests in the entrepreneurship field are highly desirable, including work/interests in small businesses, startups, corporate innovation, intrapreneurship, venture support organizations, or innovation projects.
  • Comfortable working within, and even energized, by the dynamic energy and creativity of student entrepreneurs.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills, and an ability to multi-task.
  • Strong professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Event planning experience preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office packages; Google Docs experience preferred. Willingness to develop additional computer skills, and adjust to updated technology.
  • Customer service and student-focused; ability to work well in a team environment.
