Clinical Coordinator, Advanced Medical Imaging Technology

Overview:
Under the direction of the Program Director for AMIT and close collaboration with the Department Head for Psychology and Health Sciences, the Clinical Coordinator (CC) must be responsible for all aspects of the clinical education portion of the program, including organization, ongoing review and revision, planning for and development of clinical affiliates, and the general effectiveness of the clinical education experience. The CC will establish and maintain a positive and effective relationship with appropriate clinical teaching agencies, coordinate clinical placements for students and faculty within the AMIT program, and assist in promoting the AMIT program to the external community. The coordinator will receive a stipend for performing the duties.
Responsibilities:
  • Supervise students during the program’s clinical education experiences .
  • Negotiate clinical placements for AMIT program
  • Complete paperwork that may be required for compliance with JRCNMT accreditation. Ensure clinical agency contracts/clinical affiliation agreements are up to date and comply with JRCNMT regulations
  • Network with clinical agencies to ensure clinical placement sites are available for clinical courses and appropriate to promote achievement of outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Program Director and Department Head to ensure a process is in place with clinical requirement tracking system to comply with mandatory agency requirements prior to student and faculty placement at the clinical site. a. Monitor student information entered into the clinical requirement tracking system utilized by the Department of Psychology and Health Sciences to ensure compliance with the requirements of clinical agencies according to contractual agreements. b. Orient students to the utilization of the clinical requirement tracking system and the requirements for attendance at clinical experiences. c. Implement the process of submitting required information relating to health forms, orientation materials, and clearances by students requested by clinical agencies.
  • Communicate with the Program Director prior to the clinical experiences providing the names of students who are not in compliance with identified requirements for attendance at clinical.
  • Collaborate with AMIT Program Director and Faculty to plan student site visits throughout the Spring, Summer and Fall semesters.
  • Provide input regarding student handbooks.
  • Represent RMU at various clinical agency student placement meetings.
  • Represent RMU at various clinical agency student placement meetings.
  • Communicate clinical agency orientation dates and schedules to course faculty and students.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • On occasion may need to travel on behalf of the university.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited academic institution in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a health related field required. Masters degree or higher preferred. Certification and registration in Nuclear Medicine Technology (e.g. ARRT, NMTCB) required.
  • Minimum of two years post-certification experience in nuclear medicine technology.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data related to the clinical components of the program.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with faculty, students, and other administrators and staff.
  • Understanding the ability to engage in appropriate outcomes assessment practices for the program.
  • Ability to use the University’s resources to promote an effective teaching and learning environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and initiative.
  • Ability to professionally represent SNEHS and RMU to internal/external constituencies.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
