Standardized Patient Coordinator

Overview:
Standardized Patient Coordinator can work remotely when not actively cast in a role or working with the actors prior to simulation. Robert Morris University’s School of Nursing, Education and Human Studies is seeking qualified applicants to serve as a full-time actor and standardized patient coordinator in the Regional Research and Innovation in Simulation Education (RISE) Center. This position is 10 hours a week (some weeks may have more than 10 hours, this is an average over the 16 weeks, some weeks might be less) organizing and managing our actor program. This position is a part-time, non benefit role.
Responsibilities:
  • First pick to portray roles that you are comfortable with throughout the semester
  • Building relationships with our current network of actors
  • Organizing files, casting, training, scheduling and ensuring our needs for actors are met in a timely manner
  • Communicating with faculty as needed to develop/update scripts, encouraging diversity in scripts and opportunities to build simulations with non-binary, transgender characters
  • Discovering ways to build efficiencies in our system to automate scripts and reminders to casted actors
  • Work collaboratively with RISE Center team members as needed
  • Apply moulage to actors as required by some of the scenarios
  • Must be willing to work with excel spreadsheets
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
  • At least 2 years’ experience working as a standardized patient for healthcare professions
  • Experience with Simulation Education
  • At least 2 years’ experience working as a standardized patient for healthcare professions
  • Experience with Simulation Education
  • Knowledge of ASPE standards
  • Computer proficiency in PC and Mac-based software applications: excel, and google platform
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and willing to learn new skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and reliably meets deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to coordinate training assignments, tasks, and schedules.
  • Ability to assess situations and adapt to highly dynamic environment.
  • You are a seasoned actor who has worked in the standardized patient role serving primarily healthcare simulation experiences.
  • CHSE certification preferred
