Overview:
The RMU Campus Wellness Team is recruiting a graduate assistant (GA) to serve as a peer wellness educator. GA will work closely with the Campus Wellness team and Thrive Leaders (undergraduate peer wellness educators) to develop and implement holistic wellness education and outreach programming to the RMU community. This is an excellent opportunity for graduate students interested in mental health/wellness, healthcare, and/or higher education to gain experience with wellness promotion practices in an on-campus setting. Additionally, this position provides an opportunity for building skills in leadership, student engagement, and community outreach. The ideal candidate needs to be a collaborative, student‐oriented, and reliable individual. The successful candidate will be on contract through the end of the 2025-2026 academic year and may be able to continue in their position following an annual performance review, as long as they are still enrolled in a graduate program at RMU.
Responsibilities:
20 hours per week in-office/staffing events:

Assist Campus Wellness team in the development and implementation of wellness educational/outreach programming for the RMU community (ex: presentations, tabling, awareness and prevention events)

Assist in planning and implementation of training the Thrive Leaders in August

Assist in providing supervision and mentorship to Thrive Leaders
-
Attend weekly staff meetings with Thrive Leaders

Create content for and post to social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok)

Develop collaborative, working relationships with faculty, staff, campus partners, and community stakeholders

Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Currently enrolled in a graduate program at Robert Morris University

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
Strong organizational, administrative, customer service, and leadership skills, including the ability to receive and delegate tasks

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Understanding of unique needs of diverse student populations and cultural sensitivity

Demonstrated understanding of social media and ability to create high-quality content
-
Be in good academic, financial, and disciplinary standing with the university prior to and throughout employment

Be available for evening and weekend work, as needed
Academic Years Preferred: First Year Graduate Student or Greater
