Structured Literacy University Supervisor

Overview:
The Structured Literacy University Supervisor supervises practicum students enrolled in the Structured Literacy Program.
 
Responsibilities:
Oversee candidates during the Structured Literacy practicum providing guidance for completing all portfolio and course requirements. The supervisor will also assist candidates with scoring practicum pre and post assessments, make recommendations on instructional sequence, observe each candidate tutoring 3 times per semester using the practicum rubric.
They provide a feedback session to candidates with guidance for improvement, and review written lesson plans and give feedback for changes prior to their delivery of lessons. Review lesson plans with completed observation notes after lessons. This review process requires regular contact with candidates at least twice per week. Additionally, they provide Structured Literacy resources and assist candidates in making instructional decisions using diagnostic prescriptive approach.
Minimum Qualifications:
Structured Literacy/Dyslexia Interventionist Certification through CERI or similar credential, such as Orton-Gillingham certification. Literacy Coaching training/coursework on transcript OR trainer or supervisor level credential
Candidate must have experience delivering KPS-aligned Structured Literacy interventions for students with remedial reading needs, including those with profiles characteristic of dyslexia.
